Gastrocnemius
This muscle is a two-headed superficial muscle which is located at the back of our lower limb.
The top of this muscle runs just above the knee down the bottom of the heel.
Calf Raises
Instructions:
· Stand on the edge of a step, holding on for support if needed
· Slowly raise up on to tiptoes
· Slowly lower and drop your heels down below the step
· Repeat 3x10 repetitions
Progressions:
· Repeat as above but stand on one leg
· Or add a weight to the exercise
