This year Restart a Heart Day will take place on Tuesday 16 October 2018. Whether you work at a school, or you want training for your workplace or community group, this is the time to get involved.
If you suffer an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in the UK you have less than a one in ten chance of surviving. We want to change that.
World Restart a Heart Day is an annual initiative which aims to train as many people as possible in CPR in one day, so that more people know these life saving skills.
This year the Resuscitation Council (UK) along with the British Heart Foundation, British Red Cross, St John Ambulance and Yorkshire Ambulance Service will be working together to help train as many people as possible in the UK and make sure they know how to save a life.
How can you get involved?
We have all the resources, kit and training available to help you train people on Restart a Heart Day.
What do you need to do?
· If you work for a secondary school, apply for one of our free Call Push Rescue training kits. If eligible, we'll be in touch with information on when you'll receive your kit. Otherwise you can buy a kit online. It contains everything you need to run a CPR training session.
· Use #RestartAHeart to follow what's happening on the day.
· Run your training on Restart a Heart Day, 16 October.
· Tell us how many people you've trained.
How long is the training?
Using Call Push Rescue the training takes around 30 minutes to 1 hour. The training is delivered by a DVD which means that it’s really easy to run.
What will you need?
Everything you need will be in your CPR training kit, including manikins and the training DVD.
Workplaces and community groups can buy a kit online. Schools can apply for a free Call Push Rescue kit if you don’t already have one. If eligible, we'll be in touch with information on when you'll receive your kit. Apart from that all you'll need is a large room with plenty of floor space and willing students!
