Patient Initiated Follow-Up (PIFU)
As of 1st January 2026 we will be introducing a PIFU system.
A Patient Initiated Follow-Up or (PIFU) is provided to you by your physiotherapist when you are discharged. It's purpose is to allow you to come back and see your physiotherapist any time in the first 6 months after discharge, for the same condition. If your symptoms do not improve or get worse and you need further advice, you can book a follow-up appointment using the below contact details:

If your last appointment was more than 6 months ago, or you would like to be seen for a different musculoskeletal issue, you will need a new referral.

- If you were discharged from our service before 1st January 2026 and you'd like to be seen again for the same condition you will still have 12 months from your last appointment date (under the previous SOS system).
